1. Device Donation Program

By submitting a donation through Tech for Education, you agree to donate your used device (phone, tablet, laptop, camera, smartwatch, or other accepted electronics) to us. We will evaluate the device, and if accepted, refurbish or resell it. Proceeds support educational initiatives in partnership with our sister charity, Chabad, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

2. Complimentary Gift Card Terms

Donors may receive a complimentary $10 Amazon gift card as a thank-you for qualifying donations. To qualify, the donated device must meet our minimum estimated resale value of $150 after inspection. We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, whether a device meets this value threshold based on model, condition, functionality, and market demand.

The gift card is entirely complimentary. There is no purchase, payment, or guaranteed consideration involved in receiving one. We may decide at any time, for any reason, not to issue a gift card for a particular donation. Submission of a donation form does not create an obligation or contract to receive a gift card.

3. No Guarantee of Resale or Proceeds

We do not guarantee that any device will be sold, refurbished, or that a specific amount of proceeds will be directed to any program. Devices that cannot be refurbished or resold may be recycled responsibly at our discretion.

4. Device Condition & Inspection

All donated devices are subject to inspection upon receipt. We may decline any device that does not match the description provided, is damaged, locked, reported stolen, or otherwise unsuitable. Devices must be factory reset and free of activation locks before shipping. We are not responsible for data left on a device.

5. Shipping & Labels

We may provide prepaid shipping labels and shipping supplies at our discretion. Donors are responsible for securely packaging the device. We are not liable for devices lost, damaged, or delayed during shipping, whether using a label provided by us or shipping independently.

6. No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech for Education and its partners, officers, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your donation, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of device value, shipping delays, or non-receipt of a gift card.

By donating, you release Tech for Education from any claims, demands, or liabilities related to your device, its resale value, or any gift card decision.

7. Tax Information

Donations may be tax-deductible where applicable. We are not responsible for determining the tax treatment of your donation. Consult a qualified tax professional. Any tax receipt provided is for the fair market value of the donated device as determined by us or our partner organization.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the donation program after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
